Breakneck speed

Called the Coke guys to let them know we are finally ready to install equipment. They still have to run lines upstairs, and install the fountain equipment and ice bins at both the downstairs and upstairs lobby areas.

Bich and I put a top on the ticket booth downstairs. It took us several hours, but it looks pretty nice.

The flooring was put down in the lobby so that Ron and Ronnie could come in and work their magic. The lobby is coming along GREAT. I wish I could show you more detailed pics, but that would spoil the surprise.

We now have three crews working at once. Boyer’s crew is rocking and finishing the stairwells. Shahan’s group has now moved into the big theater space, which is the last big wiring job in the whole building. Ron & Ronnie are getting the built-ins and decor done for the lobby space.

The electrical and framing of the ceiling should be done by the weekend, which leaves Sat and Sun for me and Bich to stuff insulation in the ceiling. With any luck, they’ll have the ceiling up on Monday for finishing, then be able to do the final buildout of the stage and seating areas in time for the carpet installation, which is scheduled for Sept 20 & 21.

I’m trailing right behind them all, painting and priming walls, doing a fair amount of cleanup, and tackling the little bits of finishing here and there – baseboards, flooring, light fixtures, etc. The scary part is that we will have made so much progress in such a short time that I’m not sure I’ll be ready with the permits, licenses, and kitchen equipment to be up and ready when the construction is done! There are so many things to take care of, even after the construction is complete.
